50 EGGS HOSPITALITY GROUP TO DEBUT EXCITING NEW JAPANESE DINING CONCEPT WAKUDA, BY CHEF TETSUYA WAKUDA, AT THE VENETIAN RESORT LAS VEGAS IN SPRING 2022

Press Releases

Wakuda will be the Two-Michelin-Star Chef’s first-ever restaurant in the U.S, immediately following the brand’s early 2022 debut at Marina Bay Sands Singapore

Las Vegas, NV (July 29, 2021) — In Spring 2022, the Las Vegas dining scene will get a game-changing new offering with the debut of Wakuda Las Vegas -- the first high-end, purely Japanese restaurant at The Venetian Resort. Wakuda is the brainchild of decorated chef Tetsuya Wakuda and restaurateur John Kunkel’s 50 Eggs Hospitality Group -- a vibrant, artful collision of time and culture, capturing the tension between traditional and modern Japan in a bold and thoughtful way through cuisine, design and art.

Wakuda, which will join the signature restaurant collection of The Venetian Resort, will anchor the lobby of The Palazzo tower, and include a patio overlooking the famed Las Vegas Strip. Its opening comes on the heels of a multi-year expansion of the resort’s culinary program, bringing 12 dynamic new restaurants to the property since 2019.

The eponymous Wakuda will be the acclaimed 50 Best chef’s first restaurant in the US, joining his two-Michelin-Star Waku Ghin at Marina Bay Sands Singapore and popular Tetsuya’s in Sydney, Australia. “I am incredibly excited to finally come to the United States in partnership with John Kunkel, 50 Eggs Hospitality Group and The Venetian Resort,” commented chef Tetsuya. “The Wakuda brand represents an evolution from my restaurants to date, with a vibrant design and atmosphere that will be an exciting new backdrop for my cuisine.” Part world-class precision and part artistic intuition, chef Tetsuya’s culinary philosophy is to create an indelible memory that keeps his guests coming back.

Added 50 Eggs Founder CEO John Kunkel, “The Wakuda concept will be unlike anything Las Vegas has seen in Japanese dining -- truly next level. We’re honored to be joining forces with chef Tetsuya and our longtime colleagues at The Venetian Resort, as we bring the restaurant to Las Vegas on the heels of our Singapore debut.”  Wakuda will join 50 Eggs’ existing restaurants at The Venetian Resort, Yardbird, Chica, Spritz and Capri -- which have consistently been among The Venetian’s highest-rated dining destinations. Kunkel’s 50 Eggs group currently counts 12 restaurants in its global portfolio, with several more currently in development.
