The Summit has returned to the Las Vegas Strip

 

LAS VEGAS (July 21, 2021) – The Venetian Resort announced today that The Summit Showroom will be the new name for the Sands Showroom, the famed performance venue at the iconic Las Vegas resort.

The Summit Showroom pays homage to the “Summit at the Sands” series of performances by Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis, Joey Bishop and Peter Lawford, which were held during the 1960 filming of the movie “Ocean’s 11.”   Over a 21-day period, the movie’s five stars performed on stage together at the Sands, which was considered to be the birth of the Rat Pack.

The intimate 750-seat showroom has been home to several popular shows during the past two decades, including a successful seven year run of Australia’s Human Nature; and the home to comedy headliners Joan Rivers, Tim Allen, David Spade, and Rita Rudner.  The stage was also home to a three-year run of “Lipshtick – The Perfect Shade of Stand Up,” a groundbreaking all-female comedy series that featured Iliza Schlesinger, Nicole Byer and Whitney Cummings, among others. 

The showroom will officially receive its new name on Sept. 22, in time for a new 30-show residency by “Dancing with the Stars” alum Derek Hough.   His new show, called “Derek Hough: No Limit,” will incorporate all-new production elements, designed specifically for the astounding versatility of The Summit Showroom, and, as always, Derek's magnetic stage presence. Fans will journey through a true fusion of dance and music, as Derek explores styles ranging from ballroom and tap to salsa, hip-hop and everything in between.

The final shows held under the Sands Showroom name include The After Party, a modern-day “rat pack” featuring Joey Fatone of NSYNC, AJ McLean and Nick Carter of Backstreet Boys, and Wanya Morris of Boys II Men, along with special guests (Aug. 19-22); and Debbie Gibson & Joey McIntyre: Live in Las Vegas (Aug. 26-29 [sold out] and Sept. 16-19).
