The Venetian Resort Celebrates Chinese New Year with Spectacular Year of the Dragon Installation and Lion Dance
Las Vegas, NV (February 12, 2024) – The Venetian Resort Las Vegas celebrates Lunar New Year in traditional style with extravagant décor and entertainment.
To commemorate the Year of the Dragon, The Venetian Resort’s floral and horticulture team worked with a team of artisans and consulted a feng shui master to create the massive Chinese New Year display.
Located in the Waterfall Atrium, the feature installation is an enormous dragon suspended 30 feet in the air. Twenty-seven artisans and 12 painters worked for 11 months to bring this 3,500-pound creation that spans 98 feet. Flying next to the dragon is a glamorous seven-foot-tall phoenix weighing 150 pounds with a wingspan of 10 feet.
The gardens surrounding this impressive display were created by 15 gardeners and designers and include citrus trees, chrysanthemums, Calandivas, bromeliads, and more.
