Rosina Cocktail Lounge

Lewis Caputa is the lead bartender of Rosina, one of the three bars that make up the trinity that is The Cocktail Collective, along with The Dorsey and Electra Cocktail Club at The Venetian® Resort Las Vegas.

Born and raised in South San Francisco, Caputa spent the first part of his career in ad sales, specializing in computers and electronics. Ready for a change of scenery and a gut feeling he would be a great bartender, Caputa moved to Las Vegas in 2001. On his first day in the city, he was hired as a bar assistant at Sunset Station. He instantly loved the fast-paced environment and guest interaction. After a year in the bar assistant role, Caputa was promoted to a bartender. Within a year, he was asked to take on more responsibility to train new bartenders at Sunset Station, a request he gladly accepted.

In 2005, Caputa was hired as a seasonal bartender at The Venetian pool while still maintaining his role and responsibilities at Sunset Station. His hard work and upbeat personality earned him a fulltime shift at The Palazzo in 2008. In 2009, like many in the industry, Caputa went through the ups and downs of the financial crisis but again quickly worked his way up back to a full-time, number two spot as a bartender on The Venetian casino floor.  

When The Dorsey opened in December 2016, Caputa knew a bar like The Dorsey was exactly where he wanted to hone and perfect his craft. Caputa started on the extra board for The Cocktail Collective in 2017, working at both The Dorsey and Rosina. When Electra opened in September 2018 completing the trio of bars that makes up The Cocktail Collective, Caputa was promoted to full-time bartending position. When the Rosina lead bartender position became available in the summer of 2021, Caputa immediately put his name in for consideration and was promoted to lead bartender at Rosina in July 2021.

Caputa is known for his passionately happy personality and strives to motivate his team, provide an exceptional guest experience while maintaining the motto that bartending should be fun. Just like his personality, Caputa likes his cocktail creations to be big, bold and bright.

Over the years, Caputa has trained with some of the best in the industry, including lead bartender of The Dorsey, Evan Hosaka.

When not behind the bar, Caputa can be found at the gym, spending time with his wife, or getaways to San Diego – specifically Hotel del Coronado where he proposed to his wife.
